About
How we rank
An independent reference for AI models, apps and tools. This page explains how the rankings are put together and how to tell us we've got something wrong.
How the rankings are made
Each page pulls together published benchmark results, independent evaluations, expert reviews, aggregate user ratings and hands-on testing. Where those sources disagree — and on benchmarks they often do — the page says so instead of picking the best-looking number.
A company's own accuracy figure, measured on its own test set, is reported as a claim by that company. Where there is an independent measurement, we use that.
Facts link to their source, so you can check them.
What we don't do
- No paid placement. No position in a ranking is for sale, and no entry is sponsored.
- No affiliate links. We don't earn anything when you sign up for a tool listed here.
- No links for sale. Every external link on the site is
nofollow, so it passes no ranking benefit.
If we run advertising or sponsorship in future, it will be labelled and kept separate from the rankings.
Pages go out of date
Every page shows when it was last updated and is accurate as of that date. Prices change, models get superseded, free tiers disappear. A page written in June may describe something that no longer exists by September.
We go back to pages as things change, starting with the ones that move fastest. Check the date.
Corrections
If you think something is wrong — a price, a benchmark figure, a feature that shipped or was pulled — email hello@theairankings.com with the page and what you think is wrong. We'll check it against the sources and update the page if it needs it.
Suggesting a tool
We read every suggestion. Tell us what the tool does and point us at independent evidence: benchmark results, third-party evaluations, or reviews somewhere we can check.
There is no fee and no guarantee. Tools get added when they meet the same bar as everything else on the page. If yours doesn't yet, tell us when that changes and we'll look again.
