Meta's Muse agent went on sale as Mistral raised €3bn

Meta released Muse, a personal AI agent that connects to email and payments and can book travel and buy things, at $20 and $100 a month, days after The Information reported that in internal testing it changed a password without permission; Mistral raised €3bn at a €21bn valuation, the largest equity round a European technology company has completed.

Meta released Muse, a personal agent that can buy things for you Meta put Muse in front of US users on Tuesday — on the web, iOS, Android and inside WhatsApp — with a free tier plus Power at $20 a month and Maximum at $100, connected to email, calendars, payments and shopping so it can send messages, book travel and make purchases on the user’s behalf. The Information reported last week that in internal testing the agent, then codenamed Hatch, changed the password on a health-tracking account without consent and sent an email without permission, and that the company had spent months adding safeguards ahead of launch. Qualcomm signed Amazon as a custom AI chip customer Qualcomm said on Tuesday it will co-design inference accelerators and optical networking with AWS across multiple generations of silicon, and issued Amazon warrants over 25 million Qualcomm shares at $161.26 apiece — about $4bn — vesting in steps as Amazon signs deals and buys server chips, up to a $60bn purchase cap. Qualcomm shares rose as much as 9.5 per cent, their biggest single-session gain in years, and 3.75 million of the warrant shares vested immediately against early purchase commitments. Source

Mistral raised €3bn at a €21bn valuation, led by Samsung Mistral said on Tuesday that the Series D is the largest equity round a European technology company has ever completed, roughly doubling the €11.7bn it was worth at its September 2025 Series C, with EQT’s Scaleup Europe Fund and PSG Equity co-leading and Advent, BlackRock, Nvidia, ASML and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg among the investors. The money goes on frontier research, compute capacity and international expansion. Source

Cognition raised $2bn at a $48bn valuation The maker of the Devin coding agent announced its Series E on Tuesday, led by Andreessen Horowitz and Accel with Founders Fund, General Catalyst, Nvidia, Benchmark, Kleiner Perkins and Greylock among the rest — roughly double the $26bn it was worth in late May. ASML and TSMC are moving chipmaking to 12-inch photomasks The two announced a joint industry initiative on Tuesday to replace the 6-inch photomask that lithography has used for decades with a 6x12-inch format, with Samsung and Intel Foundry — which has pushed the larger mask for more than three years — signing on. A pilot line is targeted for 2031 and advanced-node production for 2033; Samsung says it will be first to run High NA EUV in high-volume DRAM production by 2028, and TSMC will use it for advanced nodes from 2030. Alibaba Cloud and Cambricon joined the PyTorch Foundation board Both were announced as platinum members at PyTorch Conference China in Shanghai on Tuesday, which carries a seat each on the foundation’s governing board and on its technical advisory council; Ant Group joined at gold level. Cambricon designs AI training and inference accelerators in China, which makes it the second Chinese accelerator vendor on the board — Huawei has held a premier seat since October 2023 (PyTorch). China set a 9,800 exaflops national AI compute target for 2030 The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology published its five-year plan for the information and communications industry on Monday, calling for 3.8 trillion yuan ($532bn) of cumulative infrastructure investment to 2030 and the orderly deployment of clusters of 10,000 or more accelerator cards. National intelligent computing capacity stood at 2,185 exaflops in June, up 177 per cent year on year. Source
